Friend —

My name is Chris Fadeff, and I lead the legal team here at Team Tom. I’m writing to you today because we’re in the final days of voting, and we can’t leave anything to chance. We wanted to make sure that you know your rights if you’re going to safely vote in person tomorrow.

First, if you have any problems, *call the ACLU’s election protection hotline at:*
*1-866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683).*

Here are your rights. It’s a long list but really important information:
* You have a right to vote as long as you are in line by the scheduled poll closing time so *stay in line* until you cast your ballot.
* *If you make mistakes on your ballot,* ask for a new ballot.
* *If the machines are down at your polling place,* you can ask for a paper ballot.
* *If the poll worker says your name is not on the voter list,* ask them to double check, and make sure that you spell out your name.

* If they still can’t find it, ask them to look up if you’re at the correct polling location, or double check that yourself at iwillvote.com ( [link removed] ).
* If you’re at the right place and they can’t find it, ask for a provisional ballot.
* Call the *election protection hotline 1-866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683)* for any additional guidance.

* *If you are a voter with a disability, your polling location must make reasonable accommodations for you.*

* Every polling place must have at least one accessible voting system that allows those with disabilities to vote privately and independently. Simply allowing curbside voting is not enough to be in line with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
* If necessary, you have the legal right to in-person help from someone you choose.
* A voter with a mental disability cannot be turned away from the polls simply because the poll workers think they are not “qualified” to vote.
* Visit SABE’s GoVoter Project ( [link removed] ) for more accessible information.

* *If your state doesn’t have the ballot available in your preferred language* , you are legally entitled to in-person help reading the ballot from a person of your choosing (that is not your employer or agent of your employer or union).
* *Don’t let voter intimidation win.*

* Voter intimidation can look like aggressively questioning qualifications to vote, falsely identifying themselves as an election official, persons carrying guns in open carry states, making misleading signs about voting, or straight up harassment of voters.
* If you see voter intimidation, call both your local election office ( [link removed] ) and the election protection hotline below.
* Don’t wear clothing or other items that promote any candidate or proposition because, depending on your state, you might be asked to cover up, and we want to avoid any and all potential issues.

* If you run into any issues, *call the election protection hotline below.*
If anyone goes against any of your rights, or there’s anything else you want to report, *call the ACLU’s Election Protection Hotline at:*

*1-866-OUR-VOTE* (866-687-8683) for English
*1-888-VE-Y-VOTA* (888-839-8682) for Spanish
*1-844-YALLA-US* (844-925-5287) for Arabic
*1-888-API-VOTE* (888-274-8683) for Bengali, Cantonese, Hindi, Urdu, Korean, Mandarin, Tagalog, or Vietnamese
