John, Election Day is almost here, and I wanted to reach out one last time before votes are tallied and it’s all over.
Ever since I first ran for Congress against Jaime Herrera Beutler in 2018, this has been a fight to put people over politics. When we narrowly lost, I decided to run again because I still believe, now more than ever, that Southwest Washington deserves real representation in Washington D.C. And with the momentum we’ve built together on this campaign, it’s clear you feel the same.
By now, you know where I stand: I’m ready to defend the Affordable Care Act and make health care even more affordable and accessible with a public option, help our communities recover from this pandemic, provide high-speed broadband internet to folks across the district, protect our environment, and most of all, listen to and engage with the people I serve.
And we know the facts about Jaime Herrera Beutler: She’s a ten-year career politician who’s taken more than $1.93 million from corporate special interests. She’s bragged about voting to rip away health care coverage and protections for pre-existing conditions in the middle of a pandemic. She supports this president despite his administration’s utter failure to stop the spread of this deadly virus or provide support to our working families and small businesses who are hurting. And she refuses to defend her record or face her constituents, failing to hold a single public town hall in nearly four years.
Tomorrow is our chance for change, for an independent voice in Congress, for progress.
I’m ready to fight for you, but first, we have to finish this race strong. With less than 24 hours left, can you make a grassroots contribution of any amount to support our people-powered campaign?

I’m so grateful for all you’ve done to help give me the opportunity to represent Southwest Washington in Congress. This race is going to be a close one, but I know I have the people on my side, and I believe that we will win.
Thank, and see you on the other side.
