Governor Charlie Baker is ordering a slate of new directives in response to sharp increases in coronavirus infections and hospitalizations, he announced Monday.
Starting Friday, new restrictions will be placed on businesses including restaurants, gyms, and liquor stores. Indoor and outdoor gathering restrictions will also be tightened.
The Department of Public Health is also instituting a new stay-at-home advisory from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Baker has signed an updated order related to face coverings.
