Election Day is TOMORROW, and right now the Trump campaign is ramping up its efforts to intimidate voters at the polls. Will you chip in right now to help us fight voter suppression?
Several incidents during early voting have given us a preview of what we can expect tomorrow:
- A group of Trump supporters in Virginia allegedly attempted to block entrance to an early voting site.
- Voters in Pinellas County, Florida encountered armed security guards at a polling place who claimed to be hired by the Trump campaign.
- A Michigan court blocked a rule banning people from openly carrying firearms inside polling places.
Now, President Trump is continuing to recruit so-called “poll watchers” calling them an “Army for Trump”. Based on historical precedent, we expect these efforts to be targeted primarily at communities of color.
There’s too much on the line this election to allow Trump and his cronies to scare American citizens away from voting. We’re working with our affiliates across the country to protect voting rights, but we need the resources to work until the last polling place closes tomorrow evening.
