Friends,

As we enter this historic week, we want to step back for a moment to appreciate what's possible when we win back power in key state legislatures.

One year ago, after two cycles of our strategic investments, we helped Democrats retake both chambers of the Virginia General Assembly. Since then, we've seen remarkable progress on the issues that matter for millions of Americans in a flurry of legislation that continues growing to this day:

--Gun violence prevention legislation
--Automatic voter registration
--Minimum wage increases for thousands of workers
--Passage of the Equal Rights Amendment
--Enhanced LGBTQ protections
--An end to extreme abortion restrictions
--Banning choke holds and no-knock warrants
--A new independent commission to redraw electoral maps

We have the chance to make history this week again to pave the path towards progress in other states across the Sun Belt. Chip in to help us finish the work we've started and retake other key state legislative chambers like the Texas House and Florida House.

If we retake the Texas House this week, Democrats can vote to expand Medicaid to nearly a million Texans. Retaking the Florida House would allow us to stop the GOP's obstruction of Amendment 4 and the re-enfranchisement of over a million ex-felons.

State legislatures are the foundation of our democracy with tremendous power to pass impactful legislation, redraw our electoral maps, and decide access to the ballot box. It's crucial we win back power up and down the ballot this November to reclaim and restore our democracy.

Let's finish strong,

David
