Dear John ,
Today, I am holding my breath and doing all that I can for one more day.
Hello, I'm Liz Dunning, Brady's VP of Development and a gun violence survivor. I imagine, like me, you're holding your breath today. Hoping that tomorrow’s election yields a new beginning — for gun violence prevention and for a safer America for our children and families.
I know this feeling well. On this day five years ago, I was sitting in a courtroom, terrified and holding my breath, waiting to see whether a jury would convict the gunman that killed my mother. I'd been waiting for a long time — almost 12 years. For so long, I didn't believe that my family’s new beginning would come, and then it did.

Justice came for my mom. For my dad. For my family. That day, exactly five years ago, the seed was planted for the moment I find myself living right now: I have dedicated my career to working alongside Brady to dismantle America’s epidemic of gun violence and ensure that no more families experience what mine did.
I am holding my breath today, again. But I am also hard at work, alongside my Brady family, to protect voters from armed intimidation at the polls, to ensure that every single ballot is counted, and set gun violence prevention priorities for Congress and the new administration.
John, we need your support now more than ever. As we collectively hold our breath, we cannot stop this important work. Our fight does not end with the election, it is just beginning. Will you donate now to honor my family’s new beginning five years ago and prepare Brady for whatever tomorrow brings? [[link removed]?]

Your generous gift directly funds our important work to curb America’s gun violence epidemic: Brady is fighting to prevent gun suicide in the veteran community, working with state legislatures to reform the 5% of gun dealers who are responsible for 95% of illegal guns in this country, and educating families about the importance of safe gun storage.
Please, John [[link removed]?] , will you join me in working toward a better future for our country, for our families, and for our children? [[link removed]?] Together, we can create a new beginning.
