My home state of Michigan is critical to defeating Donald Trump. And thanks to your support, we’ve connected with over 117,000 eligible voters in Michigan during the general election campaign. We’ve seen nearly twice as many people turn out to vote early this year as compared to 2016!

Trump and his enablers are watching the early voting turnout and they’re getting scared. Trump only knows how to lie and cheat, so they’re spreading disinformation, amplifying cynicism, and casting doubt on the election process.

But we’re onto them, and we’re fighting back―making sure that people’s voices are heard and every vote is counted.

To ensure that no voter suppression occurs, we’re stationing lawyers and volunteers throughout Michigan’s 13th congressional district to be our eyes and ears on the ground.

While our Get Out the Vote operation is still going strong, we’re also preparing for the days immediately after the election—when crucial swing states like Michigan need time to count all the ballots.

Unfortunately, due to our state’s anti-democracy Republican legislature, absentee ballots can’t start being counted until 7 am on Election Day, November 3rd. That means there likely won’t be a winner announced on Election Day. Our Secretary of State says the votes will all be counted by Friday, November 6th. It is crucial that every vote is counted.

Our democracy is based on fair elections and we have committed election administrators who are ensuring our voices are heard. Over this next week, Trump and his enablers will try to stir up chaos and confusion while votes are still being counted. We’ve got to hold firm and make clear that election results are not valid until every vote is counted.

Because in the country we’re building together, everyone counts—no exceptions.
