eBay Online Workshops

I am hosting two free sessions with eBay, one for businesses or individuals looking to set up and grow a ‘shop’ on eBay and one for existing eBay business users.

Hear how to get started and make the most of your eBay shop, optimise your eBay listings to maximise sales, manage your customers in an e-commerce environment as well as tips on shipping and logistics.
This has been a very challenging year for small businesses, with many asked to close their doors temporarily to stop the spread of COVID-19. Coupled with changing consumer behaviour and unsettled economic circumstances, many local businesses have been innovative and diversified into online sales. Some enterprising people have taken the opportunity to set-up a new businesses, taking advantage of the digital world so many of us have been living in.

The first free event for those new to eBay takes place on Friday 6th November at 9am-1pm.  You can sign up here and submit questions here.

The second free event for those who are existing eBay users takes place on Friday 13th November 9am-1pm. You can sign up here and submit questions here.

Funding Fair

I am hosting a free session with The National Lottery Community Fund for local charities, community groups & voluntary organisations to learn more about the Fund, the support they can offer and how best to apply.

We will also be joined by the some of the groups & organisations from our own community who have recently been successful at securing funding who will share their tips & experience.
Coronavirus has had a massive impact on fundraising and the ability to generate income for some charities so I’ve arranged this event to help our local voluntary sector get the most up-to-date information on the financial support that is available and the best way to access it.

The free event takes place on Friday 20th November at 10am to 11am and you can sign up here.

Small Business November

For many years I have promoted Small Business Saturday in December which encourages local people to ‘shop small’ and support local traders in the run up to Christmas.

Small Business Saturday encourages people to shop exclusively at small independent retailers

with the hope that this will become a long lasting habit!  Last year, a record 17.6m people across the UK spent a total of £812 million at small businesses.

This year is a little different, with many small businesses now facing tough challenges, having been asked to temporarily close their doors to stop the spread of COVID-19 at traditionally one of their busiest periods. So I’m rolling out Small Business November!

I’ve been impressed by the way so many local traders have faced the hurdles this year with inspiring tenacity and innovation – including setting up delivery services and moving online.

So to give them an extra boost, I have set up a group for our local independent shops, businesses, services, restaurants and cafes, now offering deliveries or online purchases, to advertise and to encourage folk in the Gosport Constituency to shop small.

It’s more important now than ever to support and promote our local traders. Let’s make this Small Business November! You can join the group here.

Money Management

More information about my Money Management event will be coming soon.

Trade Event

In the New Year I'll be hosting a series of collaborations with the Department for International Trade on exporting for local businesses.  This will help our traders take advantage of the new global opportunities after the EU Transition Period.
