Defeating Trump also means defeating his hawkish allies in the Republican-controlled Senate. From the beginning, they’ve enabled his cruelest policies, like the discriminatory Muslim ban that’s ripped us from our families abroad.
They’ve assisted him in sabotaging the nuclear deal and ratcheting up tensions with Iran, bringing us ever closer to the brink of war. And they’ve bolstered this administration’s decision to abandon diplomacy and in favor of harsh sanctions harming the Iranian people.
Mitch McConnell and the Republican Senate have done all this while ignoring urgent legislation — like bills to provide COVID relief and fight police brutality — that would make a huge difference in the lives of Iranian Americans here in the United States and our loved ones abroad. We need a Senate that works for us. We need to flip the Senate.
