Today is the final day to request an absentee ballot in-person at your local county or borough Board of Elections office. We don’t recommend that you mail in your absentee ballot if you want to guarantee that your vote is counted in time—but you can fill out your absentee ballot and drop it off at your polling place, or one of 300 drop boxes across the state.
No one can afford sitting out this election. For democracy to work for all of us, every voter must have their voice heard. Each of us must show up for our loved ones and neighbors, and the thousands of immigrants who have been denied a ballot. That means after Election Day is behind us, we need every absentee ballot and in-person vote to be counted.
After overcoming so many obstacles to voting—a pandemic and long lines, to name a few—we’re ready to publicly demand that every vote gets counted, even if it takes days or weeks to get an accurate count from critical states.
We know that Trump wants to bully and cheat his way into another four years in office. But we won’t let him! Voters get to choose their candidates—not the other way around.
New Yorkers are already showing up in record numbers to cast their ballots and will come together to defend the integrity of our democracy. The will of voters’ will decide this election—and afterwards, we can move forward to guarantee the full inclusion and rights of immigrant New Yorkers, during the pandemic and beyond.
