Hi Supporter,
These last five weeks, we've shared a number of stories from various Sierra Club staff on pressing issues of our time:
* First, I shared my personal story and how my family's values growing up live on in me and are reflected in Sierra Club's commitment to advancing racial justice.1
* Leslie wrote about how protecting our elections and ensuring all are able to vote freely and fairly -- regardless of skin color or income level -- helps our democracy work and protects our environment in the process.2
* Courtney shared Sierra Club's commitment to fighting for a strong judicial system that upholds environmental law and stands on the side of justice and equality for all -- amidst a fight against Trump's third Supreme Court nominee who is now confirmed as a justice.3
* Last week Bryan shared his story of living in Houston and how decades of environmental racism by oil, gas, and chemical industries and corrupt government systems have turned his community into a sacrifice zone -- sickening his neighbors and worsening climate change.4
* And finally, yesterday Jon wrote about how, despite voter suppression efforts targeting communities of color, we must demand that our democracy works and that every vote is counted. His lessons in Colorado last year help us put into context how the official results nationwide may take several days to be tabulated after Election Day this week.5I hope you've taken the time to read, reflect on, and learn from these powerful stories.
After these last several weeks, we have a question for you now: How important do you feel it is to fight racism in order to protect the planet?
Not at all. They are very distinct issues

Somewhat. They are related issues.

Extremely. They are inherently connected issues

Thanks for your continued commitment to a safer, cleaner, and more just planet,
