Friend —
Have you heard that local GOP operatives have filed another lawsuit to silence the voices of voters in Harris County, this one asking the court to throw out votes already cast in good faith by more than 127,000 Harris County voters, more than 24,000 of them in TX-07.
While a similar lawsuit, involving the same claims and the same parties has been rejected by the Texas Supreme Court just last week and again yesterday, a federal court in Houston will hold a hearing on the case this morning.
What can we do while the lawyers are arguing the case in court this morning?
GET OUT THE VOTE!
We have had record turnout in Harris County — and in TX-07 — already surpassing the total votes cast in 2016 during the early voting period.
But there are still a lot of people who have not voted. And it is our job to get them to the polls by 7:00 tomorrow. You can help!
OR
OR BOTH!
24,000 votes is a lot of votes. Lizzie won this race in 2018 by just over 12,000 votes.
While we have confidence that the GOP plaintiffs are in the wrong – and that this extreme violation of voting rights and partisan attempt to stop Texans from voting should fail – we know that this lawsuit is part of a national strategy seeking to manufacture chaos in our elections.
We will do everything we can to make sure that this strategy fails, that every voter’s voice is heard, and that every remaining voter hears from us how important it is for them to vote tomorrow.
Team Lizzie
