I'm about to ask you to help Gerry's team close a $6,000 gap and reach our big, end-of quarter grassroots goal before our deadline in two weeks. But please just let me explain why first:

Democratic enthusiasm is surging across the country right now, and it's easy to see why: Just this week, our candidates engaged in a real debate down in Houston, and we also came this close to flipping a seat in North Carolina that's been deep red for almost half a century now.

But that's the thing, friends: "This close" won't cut it when Virginians go to the polls in November. "This close" won't flip our state legislature, nor prevent Richmond Republicans from gerrymandering Virginia to hell -- just like the North Carolina GOP did.

Will you chip NOW to help Gerry do his part and turn Virginia blue this year?

Gerry knows just how close this November will be -- to say nothing of next year's election.

That's why we're marshalling as many resources as possible to do our part to lay the groundwork for big wins up and down the ballot this year - and cement Virginia's blue state status next year, too.

Too much is riding on these races for us to come up short. But right now, we're nowhere near hitting our quarterly goal -- and Gerry can't keep his eyes on the big picture when there's a big problem in his own backyard.

Right now, that problem is a $6,000 gap -- and two weeks to fill it. Will you chip in now to help us get that ball rolling?

Thanks,
