As of this weekend, there have been 1.5 million votes cast in Kentucky.

You read that correctly: 1.5 million votes cast.

And we still have two days to go!

We are on our way to a record-breaking turnout. Every two or four years, we hear that this will be the most important election of our lifetimes. But this time, it truly is. It’s an election that is taking place in the middle of a pandemic that has hit Kentucky hard in the past week; in the middle of a nationwide-uprising against racial injustice; and in the middle of the most polarizing times our nation has seen in decades.

But here’s the good news: 1.5 million Kentuckians (and counting) know this election matters.

If you’re like me, you cycle hourly through a wide range of emotions: optimism and fear, giddiness and doubt. Most of us are ready to ride a blue wave that washes over the country, but we remember 2016 too well. I’m lucky enough, though, that the Congressman always reminds me that this is a fight worth fighting for.

Can you help us continue the fight to the very end? Your support of $100, $50 or $25 will go a long way toward helping us make sure that every absentee ballot is returned and that every person who still wants to cast their vote in person can do it safely.

We can see the finish line. And here in Kentucky, we will likely know the results of the Congressman’s race before we all go to bed. (Who am I kidding? We’ll be up all night). But we can’t slow down in this last stretch — we have to keep it going until we cross the finish line.

Chip in if you can, but if you can’t, call a friend who might need help getting to the polls, or dropping off their ballot. If you haven’t voted or turned in your absentee ballot yet: DO IT TODAY.
