This is not a stepping stone for me. It's my home.
This morning, on the field where my kids grew up playing Little League and surrounded by more than 50 supporters, I was proud to receive the endorsement of parents, teachers, business owners, and two City Councilors in my race for mayor.
We held our announcement just after I ran Portland Trails' Trail to Ale 10K with over 15 members of the Kate for Mayor team. I am focused on making this a local-style race, with the community at the center. Too many of us are discouraged by the current rift between the Mayor and the Council. We need a change.
This Tuesday at midnight ends the next fundraising period. As always, campaign viability is often viewed through the lens of ability to drive financial support. Any amount helps us prove that we can run — and win — a community-centered campaign in Portland.
