What a year, team. You’ve probably been hearing about this election nonstop—but if it’s OK with you, I have a few closing thoughts I’d like to share today. First, I am deeply proud of the people of Vermont, who smashed our previous early voting record weeks ago. As I’m writing this, more than 235,000 of you have already submitted your ballots. Thank you for making your voice heard for your community, for Vermont, and for future generations! It’s not easy to vote in a pandemic, and there are still a lot of unreturned ballots out there. So to encourage everyone to get their votes in, I made a quick video about exactly what’s at stake. When you cast your ballot, you’re not just choosing our next president; you’re casting a ballot in full-hearted defense of our civil rights, our values, and the future of our democracy. You’re casting a ballot for everyone’s right to affordable health care, for a living wage and income equality, for a habitable climate, for reproductive freedom, and for a robust public health response to a raging pandemic. I know many of us are exhausted from these last four years. But today, I am feeling hopeful, team. If we all show up for this election, I’m confident Democrats can deliver a resounding victory this week and clear the path to a better, more just future. I believe in this team. I believe in Vermonters. And I believe in the progress we can make together, in the next four years and beyond. Help us get out the vote in the final days by watching and sharing this video! Thank you so much, Peter
