With so much attention on the Presidential election and Senate races, there’s a House race in North Carolina that may be flying under the radar.
District 11, the district that Mark Meadows used to represent, has a tight race — and the Republican nominee, Madison Cawthorn, is a blatant racist.
Cawthorn wrote on website associated with his campaign that a local journalist “quit his academia job in Boston to work for non-white males, like Cory Booker who aims to ruin white males.” He even posted photos of his trip to Hitler’s vacation house, which he said was “on his bucket list.” Will you rush a donation to hold Republicans like this accountable?
We’re disgusted. This man is not fit for office. Yet the Republicans have dubbed him the “next generation of conservatives” and gave him a speaking slot at the Republican National Convention!
Sadly, this isn’t surprising for the modern Republican Party.
The Trump Administration has taken actions directly aimed at harming the Black Community, whether it is its relentless voter suppression tactics, public embrace of white supremacy groups, or attacks on diversity and inclusion efforts in the federal government. This is a threat to reverse the gains of the civil rights movement.
