Friends,
The national battles over health care and race relations are coming to a head in one of the most hotly-contested House races in the country.
Victoria Spartz, the Republican candidate for Indiana’s 5th Congressional District, has bragged in her campaign ads about how she “fought Obamacare.” She recently assured voters that America doesn’t have a systemic racism problem because, in her words, “Barack Obama would not be president if [America] was a racist country.”
Democrat Christina Hale is fighting for affordable health care for all. She’s also championing the kinds of solutions we need to address racial justice in our country -- including banning police chokeholds, ending no-knock warrants, and expanding the use of police body cameras.
And Christina can win! The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has added her to their “Red to Blue” program precisely because she has the qualifications and the momentum to flip this crucial seat.
But Spartz is fighting hard to keep the seat under Republican control. The Indianapolis Star reports that “FiveThirtyEight rated the race a toss-up… Its statistical analysis gave Spartz a slight edge over Hale.”
That means, right now, Christina Hale’s campaign could really use a boost.
We’re asking you because we know you want the next Congress to be full of health care advocates and racial justice allies, not racist Trump apologists like Spartz.
That’s why we’re asking you to chip in $5, $10, $20, or whatever you can. Your money will go directly to Christina Hale’s campaign -- one of the most significant Democratic efforts in the country -- at an incredibly important time in the election and in history. >> [link removed]
Thank you for fighting for Christina and for the values she stands for. Your support will make all the difference.
