John,
Elections are about choices, and the choice before us could not be more clear:
Do we want to live in Trump’s America, where voting is all too often considered a privilege, and one diagnosis or layoff can send a family spiraling into bankruptcy?
Or do we want an America where every individual has the freedom and opportunity to thrive, no matter how much money they make or where they call home.
I am endlessly hopeful that we CAN build the America we aspire to — but we won’t get there with Mitch McConnell steering the ship and pushing right-wing policies through the Senate.
We will only get there if we take back the Senate for Democrats and elect leaders like Sara Gideon who are willing to fight for us in challenging times. So please:
John, we are living through challenging times. But I’m asking you not to lose hope.
If we all keep up the fight, our commitment to our shared values will win out. And together, we will build the America our families deserve.
