Friend,
In 2018, Floridians voted to restore voting rights to people with prior felony convictions -- the largest expansion of voting rights in decades. Republicans were furious, because they know that when more people vote, they lose. They lost no time doing whatever they could to roll back this historic enfranchisement:
- First, Florida Republicans passed a law requiring persons with former felony convictions to pay fines and fees before voting, blocking more than half of returning citizens from having their rights restored.
- Then, Florida's attorney general announced that she would investigate Mike Bloomberg's efforts to pay these fines and fees to make it easier for Floridians to vote.
- Now, Florida's top election officer is ordering local election officials to remove returning citizens from the voting rolls -- even though millions of Floridians are already voting!

This is just the latest in a string of stories regarding voter intimidation in Florida. Last week, voters in Pinellas County encountered armed security guards -- allegedly hired by the Trump campaign -- at an early voting location. In Miami, an armed police officer showed up at the polls wearing a Trump 2020 mask.
Clearly, the GOP doesn't believe they can win an honest race in Florida, so they're trying to stack the deck in their favor with voter suppression and intimidation. We can't let them win, friend. Will you chip in today to help us ensure every voter has the chance to make their voice heard this fall?
-- Team NDRC
Since 2017, the NDRC has executed a comprehensive redistricting strategy that shifts the redistricting power, creating fair districts where Democrats can compete. Our victories have been made possible by our strong community of grassroots supporters. But 2020 will be our most important -- and toughest -- year yet. It's the last year before redistricting, which means it's our last chance to elect the Democrats we trust to fight for fair maps.
