Dear John:
We want to share some heavy news: Yesterday, People’s Action members with our local member organization Down Home North Carolina were supporting a multiracial voting rights rally when they were attacked by police and pepper sprayed.
This political violence took place two blocks away from an early voting location.
Children and elderly people were present and hit with the chemical. Immediately following the pepper spray attack, several vehicles drove through the area bearing Trump signs. Several rally attendees were arrested.
We stand with our members, with Down Home North Carolina, and with the rally attendees who sought to assert their right to vote. The most important thing they need right now is for folks like us to show our solidarity by donating to Down Home Carolina’s bail fund.
This is the most important election of our lifetime, and when the multiracial working class stands together, we can beat these forces of white nationalism and systemic racism.
We’re going to get through this together. Please donate today.
Sincerely,
George Goehl
People’s Action
