Just like our campaign, they were initially discounted by the political establishment, and many in the media still doubt that Democrats can win big in Texas.
Some of the same pundits who said we couldn't win our primary in Massachusetts are saying that progressives cannot win in Texas -- especially in these three districts.
Washington insiders just cannot believe that our progressive ideas and bold climate action can win in Big Oil's backyard.
But we got huge news today that shows just how wrong that kind of thinking is. More people have already voted in Texas this year than voted in all of 2016.
This kind of enthusiasm is a testament to these bold, progressive candidates and the work our movement is doing to turn out progressive voters.
But we cannot let up now because Republicans are actively in court trying to throw out Democratic ballots in Texas -- including one case that challenges 100,000 in Harris County.
These are races that could be decided by just a few thousand votes, so last-minute investments here can make a big difference. And if we win, it will send a powerful message about our movement's strength and get us that much closer to making the Green New Deal a reality.
