Sinclair Broadcasting approved an ad to run during the Democratic Presidential Debate on Thursday night showing imagery of AOC’s face going up in flames.
Not only did it depict disgusting and violent imagery, it attempted to draw parallels with AOC and the Cambodian genocide carried out by the Khmer Rouge.
We aren’t surprised that Sinclair Broadcasting would approve an ad that spreads fear, hatred and misinformation. Sinclair has been peddling in propaganda for decades.
There’s no doubt the “socialism boogeyman” will be a trope we’ll hear repeatedly this election season, simply because Representatives like AOC are fighting for healthcare for all, tuition-free education, and a Green New Deal to meet the immediate crisis of climate change head on!
We know -- GOP super PACs like the one who paid for Thursday night’s ad are spreading fear because they know that the progressive policies that AOC is fighting for has widespread support.
Americans across the country are calling on our representatives to take a stand to ensure basic human rights to all individuals, instead of bending to corporate influence.
BNC candidate Cori Bush said it best in a tweet defending her 2020 slatemate: "People that are afraid of AOC attempt to project that fear onto others. Their fear: equity, equality -- democracy. My note to them: Oh just you wait!"
