Dear Friend,
We are just two days from the most consequential election of our lifetime. The stakes are high for the LGBTQ community, and our safety and protection are on the line. As a Lutheran Deacon, I’m well aware of anti-LGBTQ efforts to drive a wedge between the faith and LGBTQ communities, ignoring the many LGBTQ people and allies of faith.
Today at 1pm ET, I’m joining VoteAmerica and our country’s top faith leaders for “Your Ballot Your Voice: Faith & Politics.” We’ll discuss how faith plays into the dialogue and media coverage around the 2020 election. Click here to learn more and register.
I’ve watched Donald Trump pose with a closed bible, but I’ve also witnessed the harm and danger his administration has unleashed against the most vulnerable in our society, including the LGBTQ community. Religion and faith should never be weaponized against LGBTQ people and used as an excuse to discriminate. You can see the full Trump Record of attacks on LGBTQ people here: www.glaad.org/trump
In these final days before voting ends and we learn who will be elected to our nation’s highest office — and consequential offices up and down the ballot — I hope you’ll consider making a contribution to help us continue to get out the LGBTQ vote to make our voices heard. Your support will allow us to message a final 250,000 LGBTQ voters across the country to remind them to vote on Tuesday.

We must see the largest turnout in history of LGBTQ and ally voters in order to create a moral imperative that will protect the progress we have won and continue to move toward full equality and acceptance for LGBTQ people — and all marginalized communities.
In this election, let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.
