Tell 2020 Presidential Candidates:
"Sign the pledge to fight for net neutrality and appoint FCC Commissioners who will restore Obama-era net neutrality rules."

John,
What if Wall Street hedge funds could pay Comcast to slow down your computer when you try to read Social Security Works’ emails?
We know that corporations have political opinions, and they aren’t shy about putting their thumbs on the scale when they want to. Corporate telecoms are the same away. And the Trump administration has given them a great new way to make money by offering their customers worse service.
Add your name! Together, we can get all the Democratic presidential candidates to commit to standing with us to protect a free and fair Internet.
The Trump administration repealed Obama-era rules that had created “net neutrality”―and we’ve already seen internet providers begin to control the speeds of online services. If net neutrality is not restored, the public could lose the ability to access some web sites, run small businesses, and tell the stories too often ignored by the mainstream media.
We can’t allow the Internet to have a SLOW lane―and we can’t allow corporate America to control what we have access to read online.
This spring, the House of Representatives passed crucial legislation by a vote of 232-190 to ensure we have a level playing field on the Internet, but Mitch McConnell refuses to take up the measure in the Senate. The Save the Internet Act would make sure that we do not have a two-tiered Internet that can be used to suppress opposition voices and create barriers to entry for innovative, new businesses.
We need to pass the Save the Internet Act and make sure we have a president who will sign it!
Tell 2020 Democratic presidential candidates: Take the pledge to restore net neutrality!
Our pledge is simple. We’re asking all 2020 presidential candidates to publicly call for the restoration of strong open Internet protections; reject contributions from phone and cable company executives, lobbyists, and PACs; and pledge to appoint FCC Commissioners who will restore Obama-era net neutrality rules.
Thank you,
Michael Phelan Social Security Works
