After Marci Ien and Ya’ara Saks’ by-election wins in Toronto Centre and York Centre, there are now 100 women representing Canadians in the House of Commons for the first time ever – and we need to keep up that progress.


As a mom raising two very curious and opinionated girls, I’m so glad they have strong voices like these new MPs as part of our inspiring Liberal team in Parliament. Just this month, we launched our new nominations process for the next election (whenever it comes), and I’m looking forward to seeing us grow our team with even more talented, diverse, and hardworking community leaders as new Liberal MPs to help keep Canada moving forward.

But we have a lot of work ahead of us in our work to build a better, stronger, and more resilient Canada. We have a real chance to build a Canada that is healthier and safer, greener, more fair, and more competitive. It’s only possible with the commitment of supporters like you, and especially in a minority Parliament, we can never take any of our progress for granted.

Erin O’Toole has been clear about wanting to 'take Canada back'. But his plan would only take us backward to the policies of Stephen Harper and Andrew Scheer — policies that would include harmful cuts to services that Canadians count on, rolling back our work to fight climate change, weakening Canada’s gun control laws, and much more.

I know that we need to stay ready as a team, so we can keep building a better future for all Canadians in these crucial months and years ahead.
