Dear John,
We are just a few days away from Election Day. But many of us are preparing for a post-election time unlike any other. Already, we have seen uneven administration of voting protections around the country. National figures are trying to sow doubt about our democratic processes. And intimidation tactics are being used to try to prevent all communities from being full participants in our democracy.
For that reason, we're coming to you to share information on voting, ways to prepare yourself for mobilizations, and to invite you to join the Washington Metro Labor Council and local unions to protect our democracy.
These are urgent times. I encourage you to participate in the ways you can and feel meaningful to you, and to find time to care for yourself and your families and community.
In solidarity,
Elizabeth Falcon
Executive Director
DC Jobs With Justice
DC Jobs With Justice is joining the Washington Metro Labor Council for a rally on Wednesday, November 4 at 3:00 PM at McPhearson Square to Protect the Vote.
The working people of Washington, DC and beyond demand that the voices of US voters be heard. We are essential. Throughout the pandemic, we have kept communities fed, cared for sick and dying patients, keep buses and trains running, educated children, and much much more. To do this we have risked illness, supplied our own protective equipment, created new communities of care, and shouldered many tough emotional moments. Those of us who have lost work have not received sufficient support and face great risks as the pandemic continues.
We will not be intimidated. There has been a growing culture of fear around this election. We will not allow that to deter us from being full participants in our democracy.

The safety of participants is top of mind for event organizers. Please RSVP with your phone number for urgent updates that may affect event plans.
