Most Halloweens, I joke that I'm dressed as one of America's most persistently humbled superheroes. That's right – "Congress-man!"
Able to travel 3,000 miles … in just about six hours … on an airplane.
Able to give lengthy speeches … that keep almost everyone in the audience awake.
Able to anger or please thousands of people with a single tweet! CONGRESS-MAN!
(And I don't even get to remove my glasses for my costume … because I can't see a thing without them).
Sadly, I know many of us are staying home tonight instead of Trick-or-Treating. It's yet another small change that serves as a reminder that our country has gone through some incredible challenges this year.
Even though we can't be with each other like we were in elections past, we're still in this fight together. And, friend, the finish line is in sight. Tonight, at midnight, our campaign is going up against our final end-of-month deadline of this election.
And guess what?!?!? You have a super power too! It’s helping to make a difference this election year. If you haven't had the chance yet, please chip in what you can before midnight tonight so we can keep getting out the vote through November 3. This election isn't over until it's over. So don't stop now.
I don't want to spook you, but there's a lot on the line this election. Dark money ghouls and goblins are persistently threatening to try to stop us from making progress.
But we have one thing they don't: grassroots power that's built on fighting for our communities. Since day one, we've been working toward a democracy that works for the people. I'm not done fighting to bring more economic opportunity to more people in more places.
