Each week, we've introduced you to a few of our amazing candidates -- 27 women who are ready to get to work and fight for a more progressive, more inclusive Georgia. Today, our last spotlight is on Nakita Hemingway, Nicole Love Hendrickson, and Audrey Gibbons.
This year's elections could mark a turning point for Georgia. This year, wecan turn Georgia blue. We can elect leaders who will fight for our voting rights, for our public schools, for our access to affordable health care, for our environment, and for a science-based response to this pandemic.
We're fighting for more than just the White House and Congress. This year, we need to elect Democrats up and down the ballot -- because local races matter. Our school boards, county commissions, and state legislatures are the governing bodies that impact our day-to-day lives. And our OAD candidates can change them for the better.
Nakita is running to flip Georgia's State House blue. She's a Georgia native, a farmer, a small business owner, and committed to serving her community and ensuring everyone has a voice in the legislature. She knows that health care is a human right, that every child deserves an excellent education no matter their zip code, and that voting rights are sacred.
NICOLE LOVE HENDRICKSON GWINNETT COUNTY COMMISSION CHAIR
Nicole is a passionate public servant, a social worker, and founding director of Gwinnett County's community outreach program. She's now running to chair the county commission -- the most powerful office in the second-largest county in Georgia -- and flip the seat from red to blue. Nicole is a fighter for our next generation who will spur economic development, invest in Gwinnett's transportation systems, and shift Georgia politics toward a progressive future.
Audrey is a Brunswick native with a long career in accounting. She's on a mission to improve the Glynn County school systems and make sure that no child slips through the cracks by investing in early childhood education and giving teachers the resources they need to help students succeed.
We're so proud to support Nakita, Nicole, and Audrey in their fight for a more progressive, more inclusive Georgia. But they won't win their races without the support of folks like you.
