Hurricane Zeta made landfall in Southeast Louisiana on Wednesday, with thousands of residents suffering from severe wind damage and power outages.

As we continue to assess the damage from Hurricane Zeta and begin the road to recovery, I will continue working with local, state, and federal officials to ensure Louisiana has the resources we need to recover from Hurricane Zeta and the rest of this year’s busy hurricane season.

If you are experiencing a power outage:

• Response teams are working around the clock to assess damage to the electrical grid and restore service as safely and as quickly as possible.
  
  
• If you are an Entergy customer, please visit the Entergy Storm Center for continuous updates on their restoration efforts.
  
  
• If you are a Cleco customer, please visit the Cleco Storm Center for updates on outages, estimated restoration times, and more.
  
  
• If you are a WST Electric customer, please visit the WST Storm Center to report an outage or to view the outage map. 

Here are some additional Hurricane Zeta recovery resources that may be helpful for you or a loved one:

• Generator Safety: If you are dealing with a power outage and plan to use a generator, please review these tips from the Louisiana Department of Health to ensure you are using your generator safely. The CDC also has guidance for emergency use of generators.
  
  
• Travel Information: For real-time information on events affecting travel across the state, please monitor the Louisiana Department of Transportation website and Twitter page. You can also sign up for MyDOTD to stay updated on lane and road statuses. Avoid driving in standing or running water and never drive around or remove "road closed" barricades.
  
  
• Blue Tarp Distribution: The City of New Orleans and St. Bernard Parish are distributing blue tarps for people with damaged rooftops. Click here for distribution locations.
  
  
• Flood Insurance Claim Assistance: Call the NFIP Call Center at 1-800-621-3362, then press 2.
  
  
• Local Emergency Contacts: For local emergency resources, contact your local Parish OHSEP office.

Assessing Hurricane Zeta Damage with the U.S. Coast Guard

On Friday, I joined the U.S. Coast Guard and Lafourche Parish President Archie Chiasson for a flyover of Hurricane Zeta damage. Louisiana is full of tough, resilient people. We’ve proved that before and we’re already proving that again. I will continue working to ensure Louisiana has the resources we need to recover and preserve our unique way of life.
