Dear CV Friend,
We never send weekend messages.
But this is no ordinary weekend...
The election is just over two days away -- a day that could change our
lives and our country forever. If you are reading this, you know the stakes.
So what can you do right now?
SIMPLE REQUEST: This weekend I am
asking every CatholicVote member, subscriber, supporter, and friend to contact 10 Catholics. Pick your favorite Catholic friends, family or neighbors
-- and ask a simple question: ask them if they have voted -- or if they will promise to vote on Tuesday.
Why does this matter?
Because studies
show that as many as 30% or more of Mass-attending Catholics do not regularly vote. And these same studies show that a
little nudge from someone they know or trust can be the difference-maker. Everyone is sick of the TV ads. But they aren’t sick of you (I
hope!).
You can call or text your 10. You can even copy this message:
Hey, just reaching out to make sure you have voted, or plan to vote on
Tuesday. This election is going to be very close -- and your vote is critical. Please promise me you will vote!
Please thank everyone that
replies. Tell them how much this means to you. And then ask each of them to contact 10 people and do the same! If every CV email subscriber did
this -- and just 10% of respondents did the same, we could reach tens of millions of voters this weekend alone!
You don’t need to talk about
candidates and issues. Just a simple request: VOTE.
Lastly... some final advice: do it right now. Before you forget.
Pick 10 people and text
them all together (social pressure works!).
Or take 15 minutes and make 10 quick calls.
Tell them to do the same.
Trust me -- it really
makes a difference.

P.S. Remember -- convincing an
occasional voter who agrees with you to get to the polls nets the same number of votes as winning over your strongest political adversary. A vote is
a vote. Go for the lowest hanging fruit! You have more power than 25 annoying TV ads. Use it!
