"Those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and singing will flee away."
- Isaiah 51:11
Africa & Europe
- Praise God for the launch of a grant project in Romania. This funding allows the team to hire six staff members and provide trainings to government partners, NGOs and other entities in Romania regarding human trafficking in all forms. Pray for the team as they begin this project in November, particularly as they make critical hiring decisions in the next weeks.
Latin America
- Pray for job opportunities to open up, particularly for those who have lost income during the lockdowns, as governments slowly reopen in Latin America. For many families across the region, the lack of daily income results in an increased risk of violence. It can also reduce their access to justice, as many are not able to afford even basics like public transportation to reach a place where they can file a complaint if they or someone they know is experiencing violence.
South Asia
- Pray for an upcoming graduation IJM will be hosting for former bonded laborers who have completed our two-year aftercare program. Our aftercare team walks with families from the day of rescue until they are fully able to live and thrive independently. We help provide basic necessities, teach life skills (like managing money) and help ensure kids are in school and parents find dignified work. Pray for all of the logistics of this beautiful event, which will be a bit more complicated during the pandemic. We are also planning to telecast the event on a local TV station and gain participation from notable politicians — pray these big asks work out!
Southeast Asia
- Praise God for the rescues of three minors from Online Sexual Exploitation of Children and the arrest of one suspect by Philippine National Police Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC). While quarantine measures present challenges, partners in the Philippines have been determined not to be limited by restrictions. "We go to great lengths to pursue justice for the most vulnerable children no matter the cost," said WCPC Chief PBGEN Alessandro Abella. Pray for these law enforcement partners as they continue providing rescue and protection to children, and pray for the three children rescued this week, ages 8-12.

In November, you'll be introduced to the story of a survivor named Kashi*. Earlier this year we asked you to pray for the creativity of our storytelling teams so that survivor stories like hers would still be heard, even as travel restrictions have posed challenges to our conventional methods. Praise God for answered prayers, especially for the creation of an innovative animated video that enabled Kashi herself to narrate her story while still protecting her identity! Kashi's driving passion is to share her story and protect other girls — please pray that as her story is shared around the world, she would be blessed and know the tremendous impact of her courage and leadership.
