Over the last four years, Donald Trump has made it clear that he will do anything to hold onto power -- even if that means destroying our democracy, undermining our elections, and preventing a peaceful transition of power. And with every tweet and refusal to commit to accepting the legitimate results of the 2020 election, he further seeks to stoke chaos and fear.
That’s why we can’t just mobilize to win big in November — we must be ready to protect the results from any attempt by Republicans to alter the election’s outcome. People For is proud to partner with a new nationwide coalition of organizations who are pledging to do just that: Protect the Results.
Formed just a few months ago, the Protect the Results Coalition is now made up of more than 100 organizations and hundreds of thousands of people just like you who are committed to using our collective power to protect our democracy.
If Trump declares victory before all the votes are counted, makes unfounded claims that the election was “stolen,” tries to stop votes from being counted, attempts to have the Supreme Court and his personal army of three justices overturn the will of the People, or otherwise threatens the integrity of the election or the peaceful transition of power, Protect the Results will activate nationwide mobilizations to demand that every vote is counted.
That’s where you come in.
Our strength is in our numbers, which is why we need your help! Register to host a local event right now on our nationwide Protect the Results map or sign up to attend a local event and volunteer to help in the planning process!
We hope it won’t come to this, but we’re not taking anything for granted, so we are asking you to register your event to be activated as early as the afternoon of Wednesday, November 4th. We also hope that you’ll check out our Protect the Results Host Toolkit as you begin planning and RSVP to our host training series, including a very important deep dive into de-escalation and safety.
With the election just days away, we need to do everything possible to make sure the will of the people is heard, and our democracy remains intact. We need all of us to pitch in and make a difference in this critical moment in history.
