COVID-19 creates the perfect storm for addiction.

I must report to you that given the lockdowns, closures and isolation faced by millions of Americans:

Addiction is on the rise!

A nationwide survey found alcohol consumption during the pandemic is increasing while even more are suffering from depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation. Drug deaths are up 13% over last year according to The New York Times.

Here at Hazelden Betty Ford, we will not let COVID-19 take control.

Our goal is simple, clear and ambitious: To tell everyone who needs help that “You don’t have to manage your substance use alone.”

Last March we pivoted with immediate action to accelerate and expand our reach into lifesaving virtual care. For example, our RecoveryGo® telehealth services brings our world-class outpatient addiction and mental health care, recovery support resources and family services directly to you—and early studies performed by our Butler Center for Research indicate virtual treatment is as effective as in-person care.

Our ability to innovate and reach out quickly is so critical in meeting the demand for help that several generous donors came together with a $300,000 matching gift challenge to support Hazelden Betty Ford’s COVID-19 Response Fund.

To meet this unprecedented challenge, we urgently need your help as one of our most loyal supporters and friends. Perhaps you can contribute $100, $200, $500 or even more. Whatever you can give will be doubled and put to immediate and effective use.
