John:
Due to the limited number of polling locations in Maricopa County, and local health guidelines requiring social distancing of six feet or more, we are expecting polling lines to be very long on Election Day.
The question then, is how do we keep voters standing in line from becoming discouraged and leaving?
To support voters in this historic election, we're hiring "Polling Butlers" to pass out water and granola bars at key polling locations.
Polling Butlers will work in pairs for 4.5 hour shifts and receive $13 an hour. There are two shifts available: 10:00 AM - 2:30 PM and 2:30 PM - 7:00 PM. Polling Butlers will also be required to wear ID badges and masks.
We will have several training sessions on Sunday evening, November 1, to go over specific information and hand out badges.
