Earlier this month, I reached out about six Black Democrats (including me!) running for the U.S. Senate who could use your support — and you came through. We raised about $60,000 to re-elect Cory Booker in New Jersey, and elect Marquita Bradshaw in Tennessee, Jaime Harrison in South Carolina, Adrian Perkins in Louisiana, Rev. Raphael Warnock in Georgia, and me in Mississippi. That’s just incredible!

In all of United States history, there has only ever been a total of 10 Black senators in the U.S. Senate. But the six of us, with support from you, are putting up one hell of a fight to change that this November.

The Senate Six are rising to the occasion, talking about the issues that matter, and working for change. A lot of us are running in states that are too often overlooked, or simply regarded as “red” states, destined to stay stuck in the past.

Momentum behind our campaigns has resulted in, as the New York Times describes it, “a political shift... in the South that could have a lasting impact well past this election.”

If the combined six of us — including my friend, Senator Cory Booker in New Jersey — are elected on Tuesday, not only will we have regained the Democratic Senate majority: We will have achieved the most diverse Senate in U.S. history.
