As you know, our campaign budget is tight, and we're in danger of being outspent by national Republican groups propping up my far-right opponent Lee Zeldin. Before Tuesday, we need to make sure hundreds of thousands of Suffolk County voters make their plan to vote -- so my team is laser-focused on turnout at this point in the race.
John, when I got into this race and looked at the data from previous elections, I knew it was very likely we'd be outspent. But these Republicans are heavily investing against us -- more so than in any election since Zeldin first won this seat -- because they know that my pro-science message is resonating with voters and that voters have had enough of Zeldin’s far-right partisan tenure in Congress.
While corporations and billionaire donors dump money into this race to attack me with falsehoods (they know they cannot change voters’ minds about Trump parrot Lee Zeldin), we're building the budget to boost our Get Out The Vote ads across digital platforms to make sure every voice is heard in this election. We know increasing our spend could be what wins us this race.
