WomenHeart Celebrates the Wenger Awards
WomenHeart celebrated its 20th annual and first virtual Wenger Awards on October 22nd. Attendees heard from all the honorees, including Dr. Nakela Cook, Dr. Martha Gulati, Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, director of the documentary film Ms. Diagnosed, Tricia Regan, and Preeclampsia Foundation CEO Eleni Tsigas, as well as CEO Celina Gorre, Dr. Nanette Wenger, Board Chair Gayathri Badrinath and WomenHeart Champion Kathy Webster. Thanks to our supporters who bought tickets, our Host Committee and especially to our sponsors: Bristol-Myers Squibb/Pfizer Alliance, Novartis, Amgen, Esperion, Abbott and NovoNordisk.

For five weeks in September and October, WomenHeart hosted its first virtual Science & Leadership Symposium with a new class of WomenHeart Champions. Led by Medical Director Dr. Sharonne Hayes, the new volunteers attended several live and pre-recorded sessions with faculty from the Mayo Clinic as well as several others who taught them about heart health and how to tell their heart story, the importance of mental health and wellness and dialogued about diversity and inclusion. The new class had a virtual graduation on October 21st. Thank you to the sponsors of the Symposium: Abbott, AstraZeneca, BMS/Pfizer, Novartis and Novo Nordisk.
