for Congress

Friend,

We knew there was a lot at stake in Rep. Susie Lee’s race: Donald Trump has made it clear that him winning Nevada comes down to flipping this district.

But when it comes down to it, Susie’s race could have even greater ramifications in what’s called a contingency election. In a contingency election, the Congressional delegation of each state decides which way that state’s vote will go.

In the event of a tie, no votes are counted for the state. If Susie’s opponent were to win, Nevada would be split evenly 2-2. But if Susie wins, Nevada would vote 3-1 in favor of Joe Biden.

Now, this outcome may seem like a longshot, but election experts are heavily exploring this possibility due to delays in the voting systems during COVID-19. Donald Trump even mentioned it in an interview:

“After saying that counting ballots in November 'will take forever' and might not result in a clear winner, Trump declared to reporters, knowingly, 'at a certain point it goes to Congress. At a certain point it goes to Congress, you know that?” -- Slate, 9/21/2020

The stakes in this race are becoming higher every day, Friend. Now, Susie is facing her final end-of-month deadline before Election Day, but she’s falling behind on her fundraising goal as national Republicans are launching attack ad after attack ad.

We’re in a race against the clock to help Susie fight back, so I’m reaching out to ask for your help: Can I count on you to chip in?

HELP RE-ELECT SUSIE LEE

Thanks for your support,
Ted
