It seems like lies and conspiracies have become prolific in our politics. So much so, that we even have candidates running for public office now who believe in what can only be described as insane and unhinged theories about satanic cults running the government. This conspiracy, named “Q Anon,” has become a growing force, particularly among the far right.

Recent polling shows that as many as half of Republican voters believe some variation of the Q Anon conspiracy, while prominent candidates like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Burgess Owens help legitimize and promote these false, crazy conspiracies. How can our national politics survive when conspiracies overtake logic and facts in our politics and elections?
