John, it’s become apparent why our opponent, Jaime Herrera Beutler, has failed to hold a public town hall in nearly four years: because she can’t defend her own record.
In an interview with The Seattle Times, Herrera Beutler refused to answer a question about her support for the Trump Administration’s lawsuit to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which would rip coverage from millions of people and undo protections for pre-existing conditions.
Why is she refusing to talk about this lawsuit, which is headed to the Supreme Court just a week after Election Day, if she voted in support of it in Congress last year?
It only gets worse. According to The Seattle Times, “Herrera Buetler attempted to distract from her abysmal record on health care by pointing to a bill she co-sponsored that multiple nonpartisan health care analysts say would “cause premiums to increase substantially and result in an unstable market.”” That same bill would not have protected people with pre-existing conditions.
So now we know: Jaime Herrera Beutler hasn’t had a town hall in nearly four years because she can’t even defend her record on the top issue facing Southwest Washingtonians. We need a leader who will stand up for folks in Washington’s 3rd district, not someone who falls in line with Trump and their corporate interest donors attacking our care. And that leader is Carolyn.
If we’re going to protect and improve upon Southwest Washingtonians’ health care, we need to elect Carolyn on Tuesday, plain and simple.
We have just four days left to get out the vote, and our resources are running low. Can you pitch in a contribution of $10 or more right now to make sure we hit our goal before tomorrow’s LAST deadline of 2020?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation to Carolyn Long will go through immediately:
A vote for Carolyn Long is a vote for our health care. Let’s do everything we can before Tuesday to save our care from Jaime Herrera Beutler and the GOP.
