Hi there,
CNBC: “Texas’ 22nd District election between Troy Nehls and Sri Preston Kulkarni will offer a glimpse into how successful Democrats are in turning pockets of the state blue.”
If we want to make inroads into deep-red territory this election, Texas is the place to do it -- and Sri Kulkarni is the candidate who will lead the way. A former Foreign Service Officer, Sri has pledged to fight for criminal justice reform and educational equality.
But Sri’s opponent, Sheriff Troy Nehls, is using dangerous rhetoric to try to control the narrative of the race. He’s called mask mandates un-American and compared them to a communist dictatorship. His department has come under fire for substantiated allegations of racial profiling -- and there have been a series of suspicious deaths at his jail. Nehls, quite simply, represents the worst of what America has to offer.
Sri has fittingly received several high-profile endorsements -- from the Houston Chronicle, from the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, and even from Joe Biden and Barack Obama. He may have built the coalition needed to keep Nehls out of Congress.
But many of the voters in Texas 22nd District have already made Nehls sheriff twice, and those same voters will turn out to try and make Nehls their congressman. Sri is running in a tough district to say the least -- and his campaign could use a blue wave from grassroots supporters to carry him safely to Congress.
Please, friend, Sheriff Nehls can’t head to the House in 2021. Will you give what you can now to support Sri (who doesn’t take corporate PAC money) in his bid? He’s just the candidate we need to protect and expand our House majority -- but he can’t win without you. >> [link removed]
We can’t thank you enough for helping send a dear ally to Washington.
