John,
We can make the difference on Nov. 3. As union members, we come together and rise to the challenge when our communities need us. And right now, nothing is more important to the future of the labor movement and working families and our communities than voting. We’re just a few short days away from collectively deciding the future of our country.
As we rise to meet the challenges COVID-19 presents to our nation—and especially to working people—we know that making sure every vote is counted will be critical to making sure workers’ voices are heard and that our values win.
Americans already are voting in record numbers—by mail and in person—to select the next president and vice president of the United States. It’s something we’ve counted on for more than 200 years. But some people are threatening to subvert and circumvent our democratic institutions. They want to silence and intimidate eligible voters and prevent our votes from being counted.
Will you take the pledge to join workers in defending our democratic republic? Will you help ensure that every vote is counted?
Since the United States was founded, working people have fought to make our nation a democracy, and America’s working people are determined to defend it.
And if you haven’t already, please vote: vote early, drop off your ballot, or go to your polling location on Election Day and safely choose our leaders on Tuesday, Nov. 3. The voices of all workers must be heard, and union members can lead the way.
Thank you for all you do,
Team AFL-CIO
