I got to know Adam Schiff when he was running for Congress against a Republican incumbent who had been an impeachment manager against Bill Clinton. Adam was the underdog. Millions of dollars were pouring in to support his opponent.

But Adam was determined . He knocked doors, organized, and simply outworked the opposition, and he won. And then, Adam brought that same resolve to Congress.

That’s when I really got to know Adam, his character, intelligence and wit. We wrote bills together, pushed boulders up hills together, and won important legislative victories together.

And even after I left the Senate, I’ve continued to work closely with Adam, to help flip California seats from Red to Blue and help elect progressives to Congress.
