John, I'll keep this short.

I hate being the bearer of bad news, but I just checked our fundraising numbers for September so far -- and we're coming up short.

We have a lot of exciting plans for 2019 -- like supporting 30+ pro-voting rights champions in Virginia -- and 2020, but we can't get the job done if we don't hit these goals.

So please, can you pitch in $5 or $10 now to help us catch up?

Just this month alone, we've seen some vicious attacks on the right to vote.

-- Ohio is purging voters from the rolls
-- North Carolina Republicans are (still) trying to gerrymander maps
-- And Mitch McConnell is continuing to block critical election security legislation
