Hi, John,
About seven months ago, when the world seemed to come crashing down with crises all piling up—COVID, police brutality, and extreme climate disasters—I felt a little fire burning in me. It wasn’t just anger or sadness; it was hope and determination. It was the need to stand up and do something instead of avoiding the problems.
Fighting for such important, serious issues seemed almost impossible for a middle schooler like me. Sunrise Movement didn’t just make it easy, they made it feel like the most exciting thing I’d ever done. From phonebanking, to Wide Awake actions, to mass trainings, Sunrise has something for everyone who wants to step up.
If you are reading this, I know you have the same fire in you as I do. Here’s my advice: let it grow, and shine bright. As election day gets closer, we especially need help with our Friend to Friend Outreach Party today, from 4-6pm Eastern / 1-3pm Pacific. Can you sign up to help make sure this election has the biggest youth turnout we’ve ever seen?
If we’re going to ensure we swear in a government chosen by and for the people this election season, we need to inspire as many people as possible to vote. Our Victory Fest is packed with different events in the next five days to fit your schedule. If you can’t participate in our Friend to Friend Outreach Party, consider signing up for one of these other events today (all times in Eastern Time):
I’ve heard people talking about friends who are freaking out about this election. We are not helpless. Invite them to a Victory Fest event today or this weekend so they can channel that energy into a win next week!
I know that together, we’ll shine.
