U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Flood Study in St. Tammany Parish
After years of work, I was proud to announce that the Corps of Engineers had approved funding for a feasibility study of possible flood control projects in St. Tammany Parish. The $3 million in funding I worked to obtain for this flood reduction study is a big win in our fight to protect communities throughout the Northshore from flooding. This is a top priority of mine, and I will continue to work closely with the Corps to ensure timely delivery of the study's findings.

Col. Stephen Murphy, New Orleans Corps District Commander, dropped by my office to discuss the upcoming study and other Corps-related priorities in the district.

The Eastbank All-Stars Congressional Resolution
To celebrate our very own Eastbank All-Stars' historic win in the Little League World Series, I joined Senators Bill Cassidy and John Kennedy in introducing Congressional Resolutions to honor these inspiring young men. I hope to see them in Washington, D.C., soon for a celebration at the White House with President Trump.

I spoke on the House floor to mark this special moment for Louisiana, and introduce my resolution, H.Res. 547. You can watch my full remarks here.

Restrictive Anti-Energy Exploration Bills Passed in House
President Trump has made American energy dominance a priority, and I am proud of the role Louisiana plays in making our country more energy secure. It is unfortunate that Nancy Pelosi and her liberal lieutenants want to undo this success. Just this week, Speaker Pelosi put three bills on the House floor that would ban energy exploration in key areas across our country.

I believe that conservative, free market solutions contribute to a cleaner environment and a vibrant economy. As we’ve seen in Louisiana, the energy industry can be an incredible asset to our economy and our beautiful natural resources. Energy exploration and development provides cheap energy, reliable jobs, and expands our international impact. These restrictive anti-energy bill only threaten our American energy renaissance.

Introducing → The American Energy First Act
Earlier this week, I joined a number of my colleagues to introduce the American Energy First Act, which is an all-of-the-above energy reform bill that will create thousands of new jobs, lower energy prices for Louisiana families, and generate billions of dollars for federal, state, and local governments. Our bill will open new areas to energy exploration, streamline the federal permitting process, and increase Louisiana’s share of offshore energy revenues that we use to rebuild our coast. Louisiana continues to lead the way in proving that we are capable of harnessing our abundant natural resources in a safe and environmentally-conscious way.

You can read more about the bill here.

It is an honor to represent you in Congress. For more information please visit my website, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook pages.

God Bless,
