EmailTemplate-Responsive <[link removed]> Dear John??
While we wrap up October in a couple days and head into November, there is a
lot of good news that I?d like to update you on. As I am sure you know, the
confirmation vote for Judge Amy Coney Barrett to fill the vacant Supreme Court
seat happened earlier this week in the Senate. I am very pleased that the
majority voted in favor of sending Judge Barrett to the highest bench in the
land, and now that she has beenofficially sworn in as an Associate Justice
<[link removed]>
, I have full confidence that she will do an outstanding job.

On the home-front here in our beautiful 4th district, there are incredible
things happening, and I?d like to take this opportunity to let you know what
some of our local companies and organizations have been doing.

Rural Broadband

One of my favorite visits of the past couple weeks was?in Marion County?with
Tombigbee Electric Cooperative. This visit marked a big milestone in the world
of rural broadband. It was three years ago that I created and championed the
ReConnect Program to expand broadband to rural communities across our
community, state, and country. Now, thanks to that program and some of the
funds I secured for rural broadband, Tombigbee Electric hasconnected over 9,000
homes

to the internet with their Freedom Fiber. According to Steve Foshee from
Tombigbee, within five years our 4th Congressional District will be the most
broadband connected rural district in America.

This new reality of high quality and accessible broadband was once just
wishful thinking. I am proud to have led the charge on this effort in the halls
of Congress so that your hometown can get the connection you deserve. This has
been one of my top priorities for many years, and it will continue to be until
we have our entire district properly connected to rural broadband.

I had the great honor to go up in a Tombigbee bucket truck and inspect their
Freedom Fiber lines.

4th District???????

Last week I had the pleasure of visiting and touring the facilities of
Bama-Bio Tech Corporation
<[link removed]>
. They are based in Vernon and are actively developing innovative and creative
products that can be used in various industries. They are also one of our
hometown companies that started producing hand sanitizer once the pandemic hit
in March, and I am grateful for their production shift to help fill a crucial
need in our community and country.

Another great company, HomTex, has gained national recognition for the masks
they started producing once COVID-19 started. I had the great pleasure of
touring theirfacility in Cullman
<[link removed]>
, where they showed me how they produce roughly 400,000 masks every single day.
HomTex was also awarded a contract to supply their masks to the U.S. Capitol.?

Kappler was on the front lines of the Ebola outbreak in 2014 with their
innovative and highly sought-after protective suits. They have been in the
business of protecting front line workers with their suits since 1976, and I am
proud to have thembased in Guntersville
<[link removed]>
. Thanks to their years of experience and production, they were prepared and
acted quickly when the Coronavirus made its way to the United States.
