We have four days until the election. Will you protect the vote with us?

Give Now

Dear friend and fellow sojourner,

We only have four days until Election Day, and we need your help.

An unprecedented number of people have already voted, showing up to make their voices heard even in the midst of the pandemic and other obstacles. But our work is not over – we know that many more will be voting on Election Day, and their votes must be protected.

When the image of God is being assaulted in each person, we must act. We are called to be a moral presence in times when people are being silenced and intimidated. Protecting the vote is not just a partisan issue – it is a theological imperative. To quote Barbara Williams-Skinner, we need to “show up in the spirit of Matthew 25” – making sure all God’s people are protected and every citizen can exercise their right to vote.

We need your help in these last few days to mobilize people of faith and protect the vote. Will you join us with a gift of any size today?

Give to Sojourners today and support our voter protection work

After many months of preparation, our work is now in the home stretch. Here is what your gift will fund in the days and weeks to come:

  • Clergy we have trained through our Lawyers and Collars program and partnerships with the Skinner Leadership Institute and National African American Clergy Network will serve as chaplains alongside lawyers, providing a moral presence at the polls in key states, resourcing voters, and providing a peaceful deterrent to potential voter intimidation and, worst case, threats of violence.
  • Voters who have been informed by our many trainings, tools, and resources will vote, whether absentee or in-person.
  • With the help of six election reporters who we have brought on board at Sojourners for this critical season, we will cover democracy and voter protection issues across America in our online publication.
  • Via our women-led “Reimagine” livestream series and our final “rapid response” call for post-election activity on November 6, we will imagine a post-election future and navigate the post-election world together.

Protecting the vote is both a justice issue and a discipleship issue. It is an imperative of our faith, of democracy, of our discipleship – of our very commitment to one another. And we cannot do this without you.

Help us in this final stretch of our pre-election work and donate today.

With gratitude,

Rev. Adam Russell Taylor
Acting President and President-Elect, Sojourners
