Hey John,

Congresswoman Katie Porter here. I’m reaching out today to talk to you about Amy Kennedy’s crucial race to defeat Jeff Van Drew in New Jersey’s 2nd Congressional District, and what’s at stake over the next four days.

But first, I have an important ask. Will you please make a contribution today to help send Amy Kennedy to Congress? She’s counting on grassroots contributions to win:

Right now, our government works harder for big corporate interests than it does for American families. That’s no accident.

Corporate interests spend big to get their way in Washington. They spend big to stop progress on affordable health care, on climate change, and on a fair shake for working families.

They spend big to try to stop candidates like me -- a single mom of three, bankruptcy lawyer and consumer advocate -- from making it to Congress to hold corporations accountable and fight to shift the balance of power back to working families.

Amy Kennedy is a mom, a former public school teacher, and a mental health advocate. She’s made it clear that she’ll be on the side of working people in Washington. So big corporate interests are spending big to stop her, too.

That’s why I’m asking, John: Can you donate to Amy Kennedy’s campaign for Congress today? We can win this, but only if Amy has the resources to fight the gobs of corporate money pouring into South Jersey:
